Farhan had been living in Germany for 2 years when we met him.
He had left his country due to death threat after collaborating with the American Army working as a translator.
Not being able to speak German at first, football was an easy way to break barriers and make local friends.
Meeting people on the field for a game on Sundays let him play again, meet friends, learn another language and build a small community for himself to belong to.
